The Thumper History
The past 15 years on the market have seen many changes in the Thumpers such as the upgrade to the use of stainless steel or aluminum fittings, internal circuit breaker protection and Marinising of the internal circuits to protect against corrosion.
Changes to the vehicle charging system have also been made to allow for an automatic disconnection of the Thumper pack when starting your vehicle.
The Thumper range is designed to take the place of, or even work alongside a dual battery system in the vehicle. The units are supplied with a charging system for the vehicle or boat, which when installed correctly, will allow for a recharge time of 2 – 4 hours.
Each Thumper unit consists of multiple 12 Volt AGM cells (Absorbed Glass Matt) linked together in parallel. The cells are maintenance free and will not leak or gas when charging; perfect for use inside the vehicle or enclosed areas.
When using a 240 Volt battery charger to charge the Thumper range of portable dual battery systems it is recommended to set the charger to a GEL setting.
