Yes. Any power feed from the battery should be fitted with a fuse. The use of a fuse will protect both the cable that has been run from the battery and also the appliance itself, such as the 12v light. Some options for fuses to suit 12v led lights would include a in line fuse or a fuse block. 

What size cable is suitable for LED lighting? 

LED Interior lights use a very small amount of power. It does depend on the length of the cable you are wishing to run from your battery to the 12v lights. The most common size cable to run to led caravan lights is usually between a 2mm, 3mm or 4mm twin core automotive cable. 

Can I connect 12 volt lighting to a power supply? 

Yes. The 12 volt interior lights are usually designed to run on a voltage between 9 - 14.5volts. It is possible to connect 12v lights directly to a power supply so that you can run these 12 volt lights from 240 volt power when on mains power.
